STIM: Lead Game Designer / Lead Narrative
I worked on STIM as the Lead Game Designer, Lead Level Designer, and Lead Narrative writer. This entailed developing the concept of STIM, iterating on new mechanics and features for the game, designing the economy, abilities, objects, consumables, and entities.
I also took to writing GDDs, Level design documents, and pitch presentations for our game to interested parties as well as the concept for the world, characters and events of the game's narrative. I also developed whitebox levels for the game to serve as testing grounds for new concepts and refine current ones which would serve as our template for the fully realized levels in the comercially released game.
H-2-Oh?: Lead Game Designer / Lead Narrative
I worked on H-2-Oh? as the Lead Game Designer, Lead Level Designer, and Lead Narrative writer.
For this project we went with the concept our Project Lead put forward, a VR puzzle game based off of performing chemistry within a lab environment, and it was my objective to refine it into a fun and immersive puzzle experience. I designed the mechanics, elements the player would interact with, puzzles and wrote the narrative and dialogue for the games story.
Men's Health Forum Ireland: Agent Mann in Mission ISpossible!
For a University group project we worked closesly with Men's Health Forum Ireland (MHFI) to help develop a game to promote their yearly Men's Health Week event. 2022's event theme was that of Mission ISpossible, to help encourage younger men in particular to improve their health no matter how small the change is. As a team of 4 we came up with the concept for Agent Mann, a secret agent who has fallen on hard times as of late, but is determined to turn his life around and get back into the espionage game.
As the Lead Designer, Level Designer and later taking up the mantle of Project Lead, I worked closesly with MHFI to develop the concept further, seeking feedback and ideas from their volunteers to help bring the concept to life. It was to be a simple 2D sidecrolling platform, retro in style and reminiciscient of arcade classics as a few of the volunteers adore. I designed the mechanics, abilities and levels for the game, and later on as the Project Lead I would showcase our development to MHFI weekly.
I worked on Noun Town as an Irish translator. As Noun Town is a language learning VR game, my job was to translate words, phrases and sentences into Irish for the developers.
